Perrysburg JV Recovers in Time to Down Fremont Ross
The Perrysburg JV team was finally all back
together after facing a variety of downfalls, that
included a concussion, several bouts of the flu, and
an ICU visit. On December 29th the nine healthy
girls glowed as they warmed up together for the
first time in over two weeks. The team's excitement
was evident during the first half of play when they
outscored the Lady Giants 27-6.
The Lady Jackets ended the night with a 57-19
scoring domination. Lauren Diehl led Perrysburg with
14 points. Despite the obvious height disadvantage,
Perrysburg also won the rebounding category with
Becca Tudor leading the way. Not to be overlooked,
guard Maddy Williams shined on offense distributing
the ball to fellow teammates to lead with 7 assists.
Just to prove that illness didn't deplete the girls'
energy, the Lady Jackets also sprung into defensive
action with an aggressive press that forced 21
Fremont turnovers. Kelsey Draper and Megan Kaczinski
combined for 12 of Perrysburg's take-aways.
With the win, Perrysburg JV improved to a 7-0
record overall. |
