*** Freshman Game Summary ***
Perrysburg 47, Maumee - 1/21/2010

The freshmen girls meeting there
across the river rivals for the second time this
season ended up with pretty much the same results as
the first time. Perrysburg started out in a half
court trap falling back into a man to man defense
against Maumee’s 2-3 zone. Maumee scored first with
Chloe and Mollie following up with a couple of
buckets then Maumee responded with a steal for two
and another 2 after the Jackets missed opportunity.
With 33 seconds left in the quarter Lindsay hit a
jumper underneath the basket to end the quarter tied
at 6.
The Jackets came out in the second quarter with a
full court press which totally changed the tempo of
the game and brought out the best in the freshmen
girls as they started out with a 3 from Mollie, 2
buckets from Maddy, and a bucket from Amanda, Katie,
and Lindsay. Throw in a couple of foul shots and the
Jackets went into the locker room up 20 to 8.
The third and fourth quarters were much of the same
as the Jackets talent and speed was just too much
for the Panthers. The Panthers showed frustration as
they were hard pressed to get the ball past half
court due to Perrysburg’s pressure. Scores from
Chloe, Amanda, Mollie, Ashley, Aliisa, Maddy, and
Katie gave to a game ending score of Perrysburg 47
Maumee 8.
Next game is Saturday night against Notre Dame
